Ramogi was started in 2004 as a self-help group to support funeral expenses. The idea of Ramogi was mooted by the founders to always have a sitting and support our people during time of need.It was formally registered in 2010 and officially opened an office in Magongo Sub County (RamogiPortreitz / Airport self-help group).

Ramogi welfare has over the years evolved as one of the well-known organization that has always focused on the member's welfare in Mombasa. Through the leadership it has always articulated the issues affecting members in regards to social welfare. The welfare sought to develop a strategic plan that would see the welfare realize its potential.

Over the years the society has made sure that affairs of its members are well taken care and as a result the membership base has risen drastically and surpassed its original target(i.e Ramogi has more than 1500 active members).
